Our client an established yet progressive organisation based in Shrewsbury are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their team. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing all financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Manage the month-end and year-end financial close process
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts
  • Manage the annual audit process
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and HMRC
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and regulations
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management

Requirements:

  • Ideally CIMA qualified
  • At least 5 years of experience in a financial management role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
  • Experience in managing a team of financial professionals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Sage, financial modeling, and Microsoft Excel

This is a great opportunity working for a continually growing and evolving business which is a key player in their industry sector.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) permanent position offered on a hybrid basis (work from office & home) and is offering a starting salary of £40,000 to £45,000 DOE + benefits which includes onsite free parking, enhanced pension scheme, health and welfare scheme and life insurance.
