Our client, an established local community focused charity based in Shrewsbury is seeking a committed & enthusiastic Finance Manager to spearhead their financial strategies and ensure their charity thrives.
Role Highlights:
– Take charge of the charities financial landscape, collaborating closely with our CEO for effective charity operations and long-term sustainability.
– Lead the way in financial planning and management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimising resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
– Manage all aspects of general accounting, from banking operations to payroll schemes.
– Drive the annual budgeting process, providing insightful financial forecasts.
– Monitor financial performance against budgets, preparing detailed reports for stakeholders.
– Lead the production of annual accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
– Oversee resource management, including contracts and facility administration.
– Provide essential financial support to the Trustee Board and Finance Committee.
Skills & Experience:
– Qualified Accountant with demonstrated experience in financial management. CIMA or AAT qualifications ideal but not essential.
– Proficiency in accounts software – Sage and Excel.
– Experience of working in a charity or a not-for-profit organisation.
– Ability to handle multiple funding streams and complex financial structures.
– Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and work under pressure.
– Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and team members.

Offering a permanent contract working 30 hours a week which can be spread over 4 days or on a more flexible basis, offering a salary of £40 to £42k pro-rata. This is an office-based role in Shrewsbury, however there is an opportunity for this to be made a hybrid role following establishment within the position.
