"After six months of looking for work, 130 job applications and only three interviews, I reached out to Rob after noticing he was local to me. Rob didn't have anything "on the books" for me at the time but booked an online meeting to discuss my skills and what I was looking for. Although Rob wasn't going to place me, he spent over an hour discussing the challenges I'd been having and reviewed my CV, suggesting a number of changes that could make it stand out in the sea of CVs that agencies and hiring managers were receiving! There are many recruitment agents out there who "talk the talk", they tell you to reach out to them, but then don't reply!
