Charity Team Manager
Full TimeMy client, an ambitious charity based in Wiltshire is looking to appoint an experienced Team Manager to join their existing team.
The role of Team Manager is responsible for the Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire & surrounding areas teams, meeting targets and delivering on contract/funding requirements, including providing the data required by commissioners/funders and organisational monitoring. The Team Manager role is currently home based & you would be expected to travel throughout the region visiting stakeholders & attending events when restrictions are lifted.
Main duties & responsibilities involve –
- Lead and manage the teams in the delivery of outcome focused, issue based, person directed advocacy, support, and advice, in line with the relevant legislation for the advocacy/advice discipline, regulations, codes of practice, funding bids and internal policy and procedures.
- Undertake regular supervisions in line with the Company requirements for direct reports.
- Provide support and supervision to volunteers in the absence of Supervising Advocates and Supervising Advisors
- To arrange and host regular team meetings, to provide minutes, actions, and documentation for each meeting. Team meetings to include professional development and guest speakers.
- To be the central point of contact for the charity’s projects.
- Responsible for the effective allocations of casework after considering prioritisation of cases, current caseloads and skill set, with support from Supervising Advocates.
- Undertake project administration: ordering stationary, printing materials, keeping records up to date.
- Undertake all people management responsibilities for the team in relation to absence and performance management, appraisals, and CPD/training support.
- Oversee the marketing and promotional events in the area. Attending network events, forums, and stakeholder meetings to enhance and develop awareness of the charity.
- Adhere to all relevant legislation and organisational policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding & health & safety. Act as the safeguarding lead for the team.
It is essential that you have previous team leadership experience, ideally from a charity/third-sector, health & social care setting or legal environment.
You must demonstrate that you are self-motivated, organised, and able to use your own initiative. You must be able to delegate and motivate your team in order to achieve the goals set.
Its essential that you have a passion to work in the charity/third-sector environment, ideally have experience in Advocacy and highly beneficial if you hold a Diploma in Independent Advocacy Qualification. If not, you must be willing to work towards this qualification.

This is a permanent full-time position offering a salary of £24,717.05 – £27,008.98, plus a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme. Due to the nature of the role, you must be able to drive and have your own transport.
